LGBTQ+ Advocate & Public Speaker based in Los Angeles, California.

About
Hi! My name is Owen Grossman, and I am an 18-year-old LGBTQ+ advocate and public speaker from Los Angeles, California. As a Board Member for GLSEN Los Angeles, the local chapter of a national nonprofit dedicated to advancing LGBTQ+ rights in K-12 schools, I work to create safe and inclusive queer spaces and notably produced two Queer Proms for Los Angeles Youth. My activism extends to grassroots efforts including canvassing with the LA LGBT Center, lobbying alongside Equality California, and collaborating with LGBTQ+ legislators to champion pro-LGBTQ+ policies. At my high school, I was the first student to win national and state championships in Speech and Debate, and I spearheaded the creation of new school-wide LGBTQ+ initiatives such as LGBTQ+ Trivia Night and a Silent Protest. This September, I will attend Stanford University where I plan to study Political Science and Computer Science.
